Java Evangelism
The bridge above is a parable of the condition of millions of people in hundreds of ethnic groups in Indonesia today. These boys likely made it to school to taunt their classmates who had to go the long way around, an extra 6 kilometers. The "Jakarta Globe" commented that only the good swimmers dared use the bridge. A few people in unevangelized ethnic groups may make it to Jesus, but there is still not a proper bridge into their communities. The gospel is not yet shared in their language or in expression appropriate to their culture. We are asking God to help us raise up bridge builders for these societies. Please join in that prayer.
Pray that the Fast Start English Club (our last and repeated mailing) will help build bridges into the lives of people who desperately need to know the love of God. Ask God to be the ultimate recruiter for these classes.
In Pleasant Port, "One" (6 months old in Jesus) assisted in the "dipping" of two more young ladies last Sunday. Praise God for the bridges God is building through Speedy, Jean and others there. Pray for their strength and wisdom..
Eko MU and Eko PL will leave on January 31st for the Mentawai Islands. They will join classmate, Meikron. Pray that we will be able to help them improve skills in building bridges when we meet with them in Java next week.
We are planning for a February session of B2B (Blessed to be a Blessing is a program very similar to "Kairos"). B2B was adapted from the English Perspectives on the World Christian Movement into Indonesian by Indonesians. They have made some appropriate cultural adaptations and have added a section of the history of Indonesian missions. Please pray for scores of Bridge Builders to come out of these classes.
Until all Hear CLEARLY,
Dennis and Lynn
