Gratefully Christmas passed without incident in Ambon. There were many police and soldiers scattered throughout the city with ample firepower. But, we know the truth of God's word paraphrased by Eugene Petereson in the Message, "If GOD doesn't guard the city, the night watchman might as well nap." (Psalm 127:1b). Please rejoice with us that Ambon has escaped additional pain. It does seem that some forces want to create chaos here again. From limited news reports, they are also apparently working again in Poso where there was much trouble about the time of the massive Maluku conflict (1999-2004). Thank you for praying.
Pray with us as we enter 2012 that calm streets will help produce hearts that are filled with the peace that only the Prince of Peace can bring.
